Sai Baba (* around 1838/1856, † 1918 in Shirdi) was a spiritual teacher, Yogi and Fakir, who worked in Shirdi near Mumbai (Maharashtra). "Sai Baba" is an honorary title that was awarded to him by his admirers. ((Sai means "saint" in Persian, Baba "Father and Mother" on Hindi). His popularity was based on his unique charisma and his endeavor to combine Muslims and Hindus and overcome their differences. Sai Baba said: "I look at everyone with the same eye“.
